Sell your iPhone Air, and here is the honest bit about what it is worth.
The thinnest iPhone Apple has made, and a second-hand market that does not price thinness the way the launch did. A real number in a minute.
The iPhone Air is the most interesting phone on this site and the hardest one to price fairly, so it is worth being straight about it. It replaced the Plus in the lineup, it is 5.6mm, and it is genuinely lovely to hold.
The second-hand market does not pay for that. Used-phone buyers compare cameras and battery life, in that order, and the Air trades both for thinness. So it sits below the 17 Pro by more than the launch prices suggest, and closer to the standard 17 than its position in the lineup implies.
That is not a criticism of the phone and it is not us talking your offer down. It is what actually happens when an Air and a 17 Pro sit next to each other on a listings page, and you would rather hear it here than discover it after you had turned down a fair number.
Every one of these has two numbers.
What it is worth working, and what it is worth faulty. Both are real, both are yours in about a minute, and both depend on the actual device rather than a best case printed on a page. That is why the number lives in the calculator and not in a table here.
iPhone Air
256GB, 512GB or 1TB
If you are upgrading, you are not selling. You are part-paying.
The most common move from an Air is to a Pro, usually by somebody who discovered they cared about the camera more than the thinness. Your Air covers a real slice of it.
Take the payout as EpicDeals.co.za credit instead of cash and we add 12% on top. That is us paying you for not needing the money in your account today, and it costs you nothing if you were going to spend it here anyway.
The 12% is only worth taking if you were going to spend it. If you need the cash, take the cash, and we will not make the voucher hard to refuse.
What actually moves the number.
Whether it has bent, at all
The single most important check on this page and the one nobody does. Lay it screen-down on a genuinely flat surface, a glass table or a kitchen counter, and see if it rocks. At 5.6mm a bend is both more likely and more visible than on any other iPhone, and a bent Air is worth a fraction of a straight one.
The frame edges
There is very little frame to damage and every mark on it sits right at the edge of your eyeline. Scuffs show more here than on a thicker phone, and buyers looking at an Air are usually looking at it because they care how it looks.
Battery health, which matters more here
A thin phone has a small battery, so degradation bites sooner in practice than the percentage suggests. If yours is under 85% it is worth telling us the real figure rather than rounding up, because it shows up immediately in testing.
Original box and cable
Worth relatively more on an Air than on other models, because the people buying one second-hand are disproportionately the sort who want it complete.
Things that do not disqualify it.
Every one of these lowers the offer. Not one of them ends it. Pick the matching condition, say what is wrong in the notes, and the price you are shown already accounts for it.
- Cracked or shattered screen, front or back glass
- Battery health under 80%, or a phone that dies at 30%
- Face ID that has stopped working
- Charging port that only works if you hold the cable just so
- Camera with dust, haze or a rattling stabiliser
- Water damage, including phones that dried out and seemed fine
- Will not switch on at all
Three ways to take the money.
