Sell your iPhone 13, still one of the most wanted phones in the country.
13, mini, Pro or Pro Max. Enormous second-hand demand, which is good news for what we can pay you. A real number in a minute.
The iPhone 13 is probably the most common iPhone in South Africa, and that is not a disadvantage. High volume means a deep, liquid second-hand market: these sell fast, they sell to real people, and that is exactly why we can quote a decent number for one rather than a token amount.
It is also the generation where the mini exists, and the 13 mini is the strange case on this page. It sold badly when it was new and is now quietly sought after, because it is the last small iPhone and a certain kind of buyer will not consider anything else.
If yours has been sitting in a drawer since you upgraded, it is worth more than you are expecting and worth less than it was last year. Both things are true and only one of them gets better with waiting.
Every one of these has two numbers.
What it is worth working, and what it is worth faulty. Both are real, both are yours in about a minute, and both depend on the actual device rather than a best case printed on a page. That is why the number lives in the calculator and not in a table here.

If you are upgrading, you are not selling. You are part-paying.
13 to 15 gets you USB-C and a much longer software runway without paying for the newest thing. It is the upgrade we see most often from this generation, for good reason.
Take the payout as EpicDeals.co.za credit instead of cash and we add 12% on top. That is us paying you for not needing the money in your account today, and it costs you nothing if you were going to spend it here anyway.
The 12% is only worth taking if you were going to spend it. If you need the cash, take the cash, and we will not make the voucher hard to refuse.
What actually moves the number.
The mini premium, which is real
The 13 mini is the last small iPhone Apple made, and the people who want one are not shopping for alternatives. If you have a mini, do not assume the smaller phone is worth less. It frequently is not.
Volume, working in your favour
Because so many were sold here, a 13 is one of the easiest phones for us to move. Devices that sell quickly get better offers, which is the plainest possible explanation of why a common phone can beat a rare one.
Battery, which is now the main variable
Most 13s are into their fourth year. Below 80% is common and priced in rather than penalised. What matters is telling us the real number, because it is the single most frequent cause of an offer changing after testing.
Whether it has been opened
A lot of 13s have had a screen or battery done somewhere by now. That is fine and we still buy them. An unrepaired phone with an intact service history simply prices higher, and the difference is not enormous.
Things that do not disqualify it.
Every one of these lowers the offer. Not one of them ends it. Pick the matching condition, say what is wrong in the notes, and the price you are shown already accounts for it.
- Cracked or shattered screen, front or back glass
- Battery health under 80%, or a phone that dies at 30%
- Face ID that has stopped working
- Charging port that only works if you hold the cable just so
- Camera with dust, haze or a rattling stabiliser
- Water damage, including phones that dried out and seemed fine
- Will not switch on at all
Three ways to take the money.
