What actually moves the number.
Cellular, which is worth more than it costs
A wifi-plus-cellular iPad is meaningfully more valuable second-hand than the wifi-only version of the same model, because the people buying used iPads are often buying them to use away from a desk. Check the SIM tray before you answer.
Which chip is in it
The move to M-series silicon split the iPad market in half. An M-chip iPad is a current computer. An older A-chip iPad is a media player. The gap in value between them is much larger than the age difference suggests.
Screen condition, judged harshly
iPads are usually carried without cases and put down on tables, so edge chips and screen scratches are common. On a screen this size a scratch is far more visible than on a phone, and buyers price it that way.
The Pencil and keyboard, if you still have them
An Apple Pencil or a Magic Keyboard adds real money, and they are often lost separately from the iPad itself. Have a look in the drawer before you send it. Both have their own tick box in the calculator, so they get priced on top of the iPad rather than thrown in.
