Buying of Devices:
Any blacklisted or stolen devices sent to us will be handed over to the SAPS with the sender’s details.
We cannot purchase devices that have account locks activated. If we receive a device and these conditions are not met, the owner must either meet the conditions by unlocking the device remotely, or pay a courier fee of R250 to have the device returned to them.
Devices that are sent to us will have their software reset to factory settings. All your data on the device will be deleted permanently. No exceptions will be made. No backups will be made and the data will not be recovered.
If you send us a dead device, we reserve the right to attempt to repair it on the day we receive it. If we are able to repair it and it is locked to an account, we will request it to be unlocked, as well as the screen lock code, if there is one on the phone. We will make payment once it is unlocked from all accounts.
If the seller wishes to purchase the repaired device back, they can purchase it back at 20% less than the market value. While we take all the risk when buying dead device, we would also like to have the opportunity to help sellers, if we were able to repair their device. If the seller chooses to buy their device back, payment is due within 24 hours, or the device will be advertised publicly.
The offer your receive on the website is not binding on SellYouriPhone.co.za. It is still our decision whether to buy the device or not. We retain the right to refuse purchasing the device. If we receive a device that we decide not to buy, we will return it to the owner by courier, at our own cost.
If we receive a device that is significantly different to what was described in the seller’s submission form, a new offer may be made to the seller. Should the seller decline the offer, a courier fee of R250 will be payable to return the device.
By completing a product submission on our website, to sell your device to us, you are completing a VAT264 form with the information you have included in the form. This VAT264 form states that you are selling a used product. It will be signed digitally using your name.

The device is unusable without repairs. The screen doesn’t turn on and there’s no sign of life. Devices purchased in this condition must be removed from iCloud – if any devices are found to be iCloud locked at a later stage (after they have been repaired), the device will need to be unlocked. Please send us a screenshot showing the device does not appear in your list of iCloud devices. We can assist with this, if needed.
The device is functional without additional repairs, but has notable damage to major components. These include the screen, casing, battery, Touch or Face ID sensors and any other components required for the device to be in full working order. Deep scratches, cracks, or dents would qualify the device as poor condition.
The device is fully working and does not require any repairs to be used further. Minor evidence of previous use in the form of small scratches and scuffs are acceptable.
Battery maximum capacity (visible in Settings > Battery > Battery Health) must be at 90% or above. If it’s lower than that, we would have to replace the battery before the phone can be resold. A fee of R250 will be deducted from the payout, to go towards covering this cost.
The device is fully working and does not require any repairs to be used further. The device has absolutely no signs of previous use, not even minor scuffs or scratches are visible, the device is as good as new.
Battery maximum capacity (visible in Settings > Battery > Battery Health) must be at 95% or higher.
The device still has all original factory seals intact with no evidence of tampering. The box has never been been unsealed or opened, and the device has never been used. Devices must be free from any contractual obligation.
